- Preheat Dutch oven.
- Melt butter in bottom of Dutch oven. Stir in brown sugar and heat until thoroughly melted, stirring constantly.
- Add drained peaches and one can of juice or syrup. Heat until just bubbling.
- Mix cake mix according to box directions, but substituting peach juice or syrup for water. Spread cake mix evenly on top of peach mixture in Dutch oven.
- Cover and bake with coals on top and bottom (about 350 degrees) until toothpick inserted into cake mix comes out clean (about 45 minutes)
Note: best if made in a 10-inch Dutch oven
